DOG ADOPTIONS

All of our dogs are currently adopted for a $125.00 donation. This donation helps us to continue to rescue as many animals as possible. While a few of our rescues go to their adopters fairly quickly, most of our rescues need medical care (and fostering) prior to adoption. The majority of rescues come out of the shelter and already have or soon develop kennel cough, upper respiratory corona virus or the canine influenza. These dogs are all treated with a 10 day course of antibiotics to prevent complications. Sadly, thousands of dogs a year are put to sleep at the shelter simply because they develp one of these easily treatable illnesses. Many dogs need quite extensive medical care or experience highly expensive emergency animal hospital visits. We feel that it should be very affordable to adopt a dog and therefore we do not ask for more money for a particular dog, simply because that dog cost more money to bring to health. Your adoption donation helps us to save as many as we can and also to save the ones that need us the most due to their treatable, but often expensive medical conditions. Your donation also helps us to pay for the dogs in our care who experience emergency situations. As many of you may know, it usually costs $500 to $1000 just to have one dog tested and treated for one night at an emergency clinic.
All dogs are spayed/neutered, immunized, microchipped, heartworm tested, de-wormed as a precaution, receive heartworm prevention while in foster care and more. For those in Southwest Florida wishing to adopt a dog currently in the Miami area, transportation to a meeting point in the Naples/Ft. Myers area is provided and the reverse is true for dogs currently fostered in the Ft. Myers area.
All of our dogs are available to adopters on both coasts, regardless of what area they are being fostered in.
